Godspousal and my practice
Godspousal is a topic I covered very frequently on my old blog, Light of Delphi. This was back when I was fully devoted to Lord Apollon, before I was taken under King Zeus’s wing and served Him. However, just because my path has shifted does not mean I am no longer spoused to Him - in fact, the whole reason I didn’t talk about it on this blog was due to fear of backlash or being told that I was making things up in my head. However, to combat the stigma surrounding godspousal, it’s important to talk about it. So here I am, talking about it.
Any hate will not be tolerated and will result in a block.
Godspousal is going to be a different experience for everyone. I could talk for hours about the different aspects of Godspousal, but for now, I will focus on my own experiences with it. In my experience, it’s something beautiful.
Two years ago, I solidified my godspousal with Lord Apollon. You could equate this to getting married. There wasn’t much of a ceremony because I was in a home where my practice was closeted, but I plan on having a little ceremony this year because I have the means to do so! What I plan on doing is having a little ritual to celebrate our two years together, involving music, meditation, baking, and spending time out in the sun.
I consider myself mostly connected to His arts, music, and oracular aspects, though I cherish the darker parts of Him as well. But because of my connection to His warmer parts, He feels a lot more distant during the colder months. During this time, I do find myself mourning His presence. It is during this time that I will rely on devotional jewelry and the arts to keep Him with me.
Once it gets warmer out, however, I am at the top of my game! My Spring Semester grades are always better than the Fall, my motivation increases ten fold, and I generally just feel more alive. This didn’t happen as intensely before my Godspousal. Lord Apollon feels much closer during the warmer months, especially during the summer. I associate Him with Cancer and Leo because of this.
But before I continue, what exactly is Godspousal?
What is Godspousal?
The concept of Godspousal does exist in other religions. I have seen people compare being a Nun to Godspousal, which, in my opinion, is a bit of a stretch, but does make sense. There are no explicit ties to Hellenic Polytheism, though. Because of this, a lot of recon HelPols may stray away from it or shun it as a whole (though, its mostly elitists who do the latter). Godspousal is essentially when one takes a vow or makes an oath to dedicate oneself to a God for however long. Typically, it’s the rest of their life, or for this life and the next. It varies from practitioner to practitioner.
I find Hellenic ties to Godspousal in myths. When Lord Apollon finds a mortal lover like Hyacinthus or Cyprus, I see godspousal. When Lord Dionysos fell in love with Ariadne, I see godspousal. When King Zeus fell in love with Ganymede, I see Godspousal. Especially in the way that Ganymede then served King Zeus as a cupbearer. These aren’t explicitly Godspousal relationships, but I choose to interpret them as such. My interpretation does not make it fact, it just means that I feel more comfortable in my own relationship with Lord Apollon because of it.
One can be a godspouse in a variety of ways. It can be familial, it can be queerplatonic, or just platonic, or it can be romantic. I like to call it a lifetime devotion that isn’t Priesthood. Not everyone wants to be a Priest, so they may choose Godspousal in its stead.
I only have experience with romantic godspousal, though. And I’ve found it to be a very rewarding experience. While no, I will not claim that Lord Apollon comes and sits beside me and we watch movies together, I will say that we spend time together. I feel His presence often, especially when I am engaging in mundane activities. That's how I know He's there and wants to spend time with me. I spend time with Him, physically in meditations and dreams. Recently, it's mostly been meditations, as I haven't been remembering my dreams.
In meditations, we have our space. It's personal to me, so I won't share it. But that is where the majority of our time together is spent. That is where the physicality of our relationship comes in. Sometimes, I will say “just cuddled with my Godspouse,” but I really mean I laid in the sun and felt His loving warmth. That is different from my meditations. If people are interested, and if Lord Apollon consents, I can always make a little series about some of our moments together. But that's off topic.
Godspousal and my Practice
Lord Apollon has been a major help in my practice. He has always been in my life. From the very start. I took up music, acting, dance, I did archery, and it only made sense that Lord Apollon showed up in my life. I was 10 when He made Himself known to me. From there, our bond has only gotten stronger.
He taught me everything I know about divination and encouraged me to branch out. Try new things. I moved from tarot to pendulums, pendulums to oracle cards, and developed my clairaudience under His guidance. He taught me that offerings don't always have to be things, they can be actions. Through other people, He gifted me tarot cards and oracle decks that I still use to this day. He helped me learn how to trust my intuition and gut. Lord Apollon has been my teacher since the start of my practice.
Three years ago, though, Lord Apollon used to drop hints towards Godspousal. I was finding a lot more information about it on my feed, people would talk to me about it, and I’d meet a lot more people who were godspoused to different deities. It was becoming far more prominent in my life, and my readings continued to allude toward a romantic relationship in coming, which was… odd. I was already in a committed relationship, I didn’t quite know what it meant. That was, until I saw a video from another creator explaining Godspousal in its entirety.
I asked Lord Apollon right after if He had been asking me to be His Godspouse. To court Him. He said yes. This led to a roughly year-long process of us getting closer, finding the boundaries in our relationship, and settling into what we have now. Two years ago, we made it “official” sometime in June. I forgot to write the date down, so we ended up attributing the Summer Solstice to our anniversary.
Lord Apollon plays a major role in my practice, even more so now, with some things I will be announcing soon. He has led my hand in divination since I started. He has patiently guided me along my path and has kept me from falling too badly. And now, He comforts me when I’m alone. He praises me when I’m happy. When I bathe in the sun, I feel enveloped in warmth and love. He is always there, now. This means that, in my practice, He has a very heavy influence in my actions. Even before I became a Priest for King Zeus, I asked Lord Apollon for His approval. I double checked everything with Him, I asked Him countless times if the path I was walking was right. It feels almost like I’m learning how to ride a bike, and He’s let go of the handlebars and is letting me find my balance, but He’s still there. He’s always there, in case I fall. He is a lover to me, more than anything.
Questions
“Probably a simple ask but what does it feel like? How do you know? Is it very meditation and intuition based or sign based or otherwise?”
It feels like joy. It feels like care, appreciation, warmth. Though every bond is bound to be different. My bond with Lord Apollon may be different from someone else’s bond with Lord Apollon. I am more attached to His art, light, and divinatory aspects. Someone else may be spoused to His darker aspects, it truly depends on the bond. He gave me signs that I was quite blind to, but the signs will typically do the trick. If you’re paying attention, you’ll see them. And if not, well, they’ll get significantly more blunt.
“I'm interested in knowing how you balance godspousal with everything else in your life!”
Godspousal plays a role in… most of my life. I am never not thinking about Lord Apollon. The biggest balance point comes into play with my physical romantic relationships. My partner is fully aware of my Godspousal, always has been. He thinks it’s adorable. In the past, he has said he hopes to show me the physical love that Lord Apollon may not be able to. And truly, he’s quite good at it. But I don’t typically struggle to balance things; it’s really just a matter of knowing when to disconnect myself from the divine or my relationship with Him.
“How did you know it was right for you? Do you have any advice for those who are considering it?”
I knew it was right for me because it was something I thought about often. I thought it out, I considered it heavily, and I did research on it. The majority of your research will be through devotional blogs and similar things, personal WordPress blogs, etc. You have to take everything with a grain of salt. And I mean this specifically for Godspousal through a Hellenic Polytheistic lens, not generally. You can then draw your own conclusions and form your own opinions on Godspousal based on the UPG you find and the dynamics you see. But please think about it before you act - you shouldn’t run into it blindly.
“Can you have a friends with benefits type relationship with your deities or is that illegal”
Well, I wouldn’t call it Illegal. It isn’t a bond I’ve had - in my own personal opinion, sex with a God isn’t quite something one can do, at least not on the physical plane. It would be a discussion of boundaries and dynamics between you and the God you are spoused to. I am also not the authority on Godspousal. If you so choose to have this kind of relationship, so be it, but I am not personally sure how one would maintain a relationship like this with a God.
“I have a question. How does one start godspusal? I'm just curious. Is it like, "hey, let's get married", or does it just gradually develop with the kharis IF you want to? Also, what are the consequences of ending it, if there are? Like, suddenly stopping.”
Communication is my answer! Communicating with the God you would like to spouse. I typically operate under the idea that the God should be the one to approach you about Spousal, not the other way around, though there is no reason why you can’t. It’s just a me thing, I suppose. But communication will be your best friend. For me, it gradually developed and moved in that direction. If you end it, I don’t see why there would be consequences? If you find that it isn’t for you, communicate with your God. Every relationship will be different.
I truly hope this post was informational! Please feel free to ask me further questions - I love discussing Godspousal with others. My love for Lord Apollon is bright and fiery. Sharing this love makes me happy. Xaire, Altis.

I'm gonna be real, this is a gross mockery of the Pythia's legacy.
Personally I do not believe AI "art" is true art. It lacks inspiration and effort. All it does is take from an algorithim that is either manually or automatically fed with things that others have made, and it spits out something that, in most cases, barely resembles the thing it is attempting to visualize. It also has been shown to have damaging effects on the environment, in contrast to the way it is being presented here.
I fully believe neither the Mousai nor any of the gods have any role in what we make with AI. There is no divine inspiration there. And frankly I find it hubristic to compare AI to the ancient oracles like the Pythia. One is a manmade invention that has no soul, and the other was a way through which the Theoi themselves made their wills known to humanity.
Support real art, not AI "art."

Greek God Apollo ☀️
Hello everyone! We wanted our first informative post to be about this amazing god who has lighten our paths many times during these years. So here you have a small post about him!
Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, titan of the light of night and, later, light of day; and twin brother of Artemis.
God of light, medicine, diseases, plagues, dance, music, writing, arts, divination and prophecy, initiation, colonization, archery, youth and male beauty, among other things.
His best known places of worship were Delphi and Delos, but Apollo's cults have been all over Greece and have been very varied. Moreover, as a god of colonization, many of his cults invaded the lands of others and forced them to worship Apollo. A well-known case is that of the women who worshipped Gaia who ended up being massacred by one of the cults of Apollo, and it was this fact that gave rise to the myth of Apollo and Daphne.
Being such a popular god in both Greece and Rome, he has a multitude of myths that reflect very well his diversity and ambivalence. Let's talk about, for example, that of his birth, which can also be consulted in the Homeric Hymn III to Apollo. Here we will speak only of one of the versions, since it has several.
It all begins when Zeus got Leto pregnant. Hera, who was jealous, made it impossible for Leto to give birth anywhere both on land and in the ocean. Luckily for Leto, his sister Asteria had also been harassed by Zeus and, to escape from him, had turned herself into a floating island by the name of Ortigia. Thus, Leto found a place to rest.
However, Hera had put more obstacles in her way. She had forbidden Ilithia, goddess of childbirth, to attend the titanide, so Leto spent nine days and nine nights in agony until the other gods managed to bribe Ilithia.
First Artemis was born, who assisted her mother to help in the birth of Apollo; he was born on the seventh day of the month, hence the number usually associated with the god.
Ortigia was renamed Delos, where a temple and a statue were established in honor of Apollo. From here comes one of his epithets: Delius Apollo.
On the other hand, the serpent or dragon Python resided in Delphi, where he had an oracle. It is said that one of his prophecies spoke that it would be a son of Leto who would kill him, so he had pursued the Titan during her pregnancy and did not stop until Zeus put a stop to it.
Thus, on the fourth day of his birth, Apollo set out for Delphi with his bow and arrows in hand to avenge his mother. There he killed Python with one of his arrows, and one of his epithets is "Apollo far-shooter", and took the oracle. Other versions say that he chased the dragon to Tempe and killed him there.
Apollo established his oracle in Delphi and, in honor of Python, placed his bones in a cauldron that would serve both for the oracle and for the initiation of the Pythia. And here is born another of his epithets: Apollo Pythius.
As you can see, he is a rational and at the same time visceral god. He has his reasons for killing Python, but he still doesn't think twice and does it.
There are many more myths, such as that of Admetus and Apollo, Niobe and the children of Leto, or the well-known myths of Apollo and his lovers (which are not few), such as Daphne, Hyacinth, Cassandra, Cipariso or Coronis. I invite you to read them and learn about him.
As for his attributes, Apollo is related to the number 7, to wolves for shepherding, to mice for plagues, to laurel for his myth with Daphne or even for his myth with Python and his victory against him, to hyacinths for the myth of Hyacinth and an endless number of animals, plants and crystals such as crows, cypresses or the sunstone.
He is also characterized by his silver bow, the sun and the lyre, which he acquired from Hermes.
Apollo is the chief of the muses and nymphs, the lord of the arts in all fields, although at the beginning it was especially of dance. And, if you want to work something related to the arts, Apollo is the right god.
The arts, oratory, divination, sports, self-esteem, self-respect, anxiety, medicine (biosanitary field in general), decision making, personal growth, etc., are areas that can be worked with him.
Personally I have a very good relationship with Apolo. I have been in contact with him for a few years now and we have worked on some things together, and I can assure you that it is a pleasure to work and talk with him. I don't want to generalize, because the gods present themselves differently to each person, but he tends to be patient and very kind, as well as funny if he trusts you.
Apollo is, in my opinion, such a diverse and magnificent god that you can learn everything from him. Just don't piss him off, because his bow never misses and it hurts when he shoots an arrow.
And so much for this divine Sunday! This month we dedicate it to Apollo in the account. What did you think? Do you want to know more about him? Have a sunny day ☀️

You ever have a dream so VIOLENTLY good about your fav blorbos that you wake up and immediately start writing notes on your phone with your eyes still 75% closed like some kind of cryptid trying to speedrun mortality???
Because anyway. Anyway. I had a dream last night about BEARDED EZRA (sorry to the shaved!Ezra enjoyers but this is my personal biblical event. Like the second I saw the concept art where he was shaved at the Ahsoka panel recently, I CRUMBLED like a dying star. Like. Bring back the scruff 2025 I am NOT WELL).
LOOK AT HIM- ANYWAY.
And. Listen. BESTIE LISTEN TO ME. He was a guitarist. A guitarist. Do you understand- Do you COMPREHEND what it DOES to a person to see a man with mid-length messy hair, ocean-in-a-storm blue eyes, a beard sent directly by the Maker, strumming a black electric guitar like he’s personally exorcising demons??????? I was like a medieval peasant seeing a comet????????
And it was a Band AU. A BAND AU.!!!!!! In my dream. Like what am I??? Some kind of Mortis-visioned DELPHI ORACLE?? Receiving divine transmissions from the Force itself????
Sabine was obviously there because if you think I’m dreaming about Ezra without Sabine that’s actually a CRIME punishable by law. She was the bassist, looking like she could and WOULD crash a hoverbike through your living room just for fun. Colorful undercut, ripped jeans, eyeliner so sharp it could cut kyber.
And THEN. THEN- They had that spicy little backstage argument energy, the kind where you KNOW it's about to turn into something else. Probably about something stupid like Ezra refusing to follow the setlist and Sabine calling him "tough guy" in a tone that made him lose all higher brain function.
Ezra, tuning his guitar backstage: "You gonna glare at me all night Sab, or are you saving it for when I forget the bridge again?" Sabine, not even looking up from restringing her bass: "Depends. You gonna actually play it this time or just fake it and pray your 'charm' saves you?" Ezra, smirking: "You admit it. You think I’m charming." Sabine, deadly calm: "I think you’re an idiot with nice hands. Don’t make it weird." Ezra, grinning like he absolutely plans to make it weird: "You watching my hands, Mandalorian?" Sabine, snapping a string with unnecessary violence: "Only so I know where to stab first if you screw up the encore." Ezra, cocky: "Knew you were thinking about my hands."
And mid-argument??? He just SNAPPED. Like grabbed her face snapped. Like he kissed her so hard I almost woke up from the psychic whiplash alone.
It got HEATED IMMEDIATELY. Like they were about to start a whole separate concert backstage but FOR ADULTS.
And THEN I WOKE UP.
No plot. No backstory. No "this is why the band formed" lore. Just chaos, static, and vibes. Just a force vision beamed directly into my brain like I’m some kind of tragic little mortal at the mercy of the galaxy’s whims.
What am I supposed to DO with that??? I already have 300 WIPs standing by like Red Squadron but apparently we’re adding band!Ezrabine backstage kiss tension slowburn rivals-to-lovers-to-bandmates-to-lovers-again fic to the queue now?????
God. GOD.
Not that I'm complaining, OF COURSE, because spiritually I am a Victorian child getting handed an iPad full of ezrabine content. But my sister in Mandalore, I ALREADY have like six main fics running weekly like some kind of deranged hollow tree filled with plot squirrels, and now THIS?? I am CRUMBLING. I am disintegrating. I am holding it together worse than my weird little tomato/red onion-carrot breakfast cakes which, by the way, are collapsing under their own weight on the counter like tragic, savory soufflés of shame.
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO-

Why does nobody in this universe want to learn Greek like me :( making me sad, and bored, so I've made a list of all THE BENEFITS TO LEARNING GREEK:
1. The writing is really sexy. For example, even saying "you are a fish with a large forehead" looks beautiful
είσαι ένα ψάρι με μεγάλο μέτωπο
(even insulting someone is now gorgeous)
2. You could read Homer's odyssey or iliad with much less confusion since it will make more sense in the original language. Also you seem smarter reading the iliad or odyssey.
3. You seem really cool, this honestly comes with learning any new language, but Greek is connected to English, making it easier to learn, often, despite its complexity.
3. Understanding English itself will be easier since a large amount of the english language stems from Greek, as well as Latin, but Latin writing isn't quite as sexy (my own personal opinion, this is probably just because it is so similar to English, which is boring to me)
4. It is still spoken, as opposed to learning Latin, a dead language, making it easier to learn since you are more likely to have a conversation in it with somebody else.
5. The alphabet is interesting, as all foreign languages are, but the use of certain letters, how there are two different s's, three different i's and two different o's.
6. Interesting etymological origins from words. Some words came from myths, such as the man Narcissus, and particularly my favourite is when something is καλλίπυγος (Callipygious) which originated from an association with Aphrodite calling her Aphrodite Kallipygos, as well as roman reference of callipygian Venus. Callipygian means "one with/of beautiful buttocks," which I find to be quite hilariously accurate in addition to the common reference to Aphrodite in this manner.
7. If none of this enticed anybody and you dont think youll even go to greece so why bother, here are many things in Greece worth seeing:
A) THE MUSEUM IN ATHENS: multiple museums in Athens houses more history than the British Museum (that's saying a lot) with 11,000 artefacts in just the Natural Archaeological Museum in Athens alone (the British Museum has only 2,000 artefacts). Unlike many societies, they docked down much of what they did very early on so we have so much unscripted and crazy history from the Greeks alone in writing, and even moreso in their abundance of beautiful, detailed art. Even if you hate the Greeks (every country has done some bad things) it's still worth checking out the museums there just for historical knowledge and context, it will teach you a lot, i promise you that.
B) THE COASTAL WATERS: just look at the Mediterranean water, does that NOT make you want to jump in??

C) there are cats everywhere, particularly in Crete.
D) there are thousands of sites related to greek myths such as: the cave and temple of the Oracle of Delphi, which actually existed, and are still sometimes praised to Apollo today; Mount Olympus, the largest mountain in greece and worth a climb; the site where the Spartan Society thrived (my favourite society of all time, whom you should seriously check out here if you do not know already, if you do know... you should check it out also bc Weird History in yt really explains it accurately and in such a cool way).
E) greek culture. An ancient custom is to be kind to travellers, which was a belief that the traveller could be a God in disguise, so one always must treat them like a king and invite them into their home. (Again, this was an ancient custom, I'm not sure how prominent it would still be but it is a nice thought and the general public say that Greeks, particularly rural, are the loveliest people you will meet, for they have the strongest connection to this culture.) If you see blue roofs in greece this was a cultural belief as well, thought that rhat particular shade of blue would ward off evil spirits and protect the home from disease and impurity. Greece's long history of celebrated gods which are now well known worldwide through the many tales told about them and worship in their names.
If you still aren't enticed, that's okay, I am not offended, I'm just passionate I hope I didn't hurt anybody's feelings, and pls tell me if i have offended anyone who is greek themselves, because I am not greek, just heavily in love with your culture, so pls do correct me. Have a lovely day everybody :>

What're your headcanons on Miss Rachel Elizabeth Dare
OMG..... wait dw guys, i got this 😼
starting off with some art stuff, i think she'd be really adventurous when it came to which mediums she used. i think she would do a lot of 3d art combined with 2d, like sculptures coming out of a canvas
i also like to think she experiments with stained glass!! just because it fits her vibes so well and you cant tell me she wouldn't have crazy fun with it
she was diagnosed with autism when she was pretty young, but her father is like, fairly shitty about it :(( when she meets more neurodivergent people at camp she starts to feel more confident in herself and is more open about it though!!!
also, she has synthesia, specifically ordinal linguistic personification
loves books but has a difficult time with organising time for reading and enjoying it, since when she has free time she prefers to paint, so shes super into audiobooks
total dog person
her oracle of delphi powers disrupt her life a lot more than people think it does. sometimes her visions get so bad she has to spend days in bed at a time. percy always makes time to spend a couple hours with her when this does happen, and is one of the people rachel opens up to the most about her struggles with it
has no favourite flavour when it comes to icecream or anything, she always jsut wants to try anything. also: chronic food sharer, she loves giving friends food and people give her a bite of pretty much everything they have when theyre hanging out.
favourite subject in school was science, and she also had a little bit of a passion for philosophy.
an addendum to that; she likes sending people randomly incomprehensible philosophy meme at like 2 am. you knwo that youre IN with her when you see aristotle in your notifications

Some people are so desperate to deny the obvious that they'll go to any lengths for it.
I know what conference Rose is talking about. I watched that video in 2020 and it was a Fantastic Beasts conference, not a Cursed Child one. Someone asked if Delphi really is Bellatrix and Voldemort's daughter (which is already clear) and JKR said that's off topic as it was an FB conference. People asking obvious questions like that are clearly trolls looking to fight and she's had enough of them online.
She was not aggressive. She knew how horrible the fandom is and she was already very disheartened by the response to Cursed Child as well as to Dumbledore being gay. She already wrote what she intended in the books and the play, so people asking her obvious questions for the sake of mocking her, thinking they know her books and characters better than she does, is not something she's willing to entertain. The person who asked her the question was clearly baiting her.
Also, if a certain viewpoint is popular in the fandom, chances are JKR disagrees. She has said multiple times that she sees the characters and the world very differently from the fandom. She was even kicked out of an ignorant forum once and told she did not understand her own characters. Her experience in this hellhole of a fandom is very similar to Bellamort shippers'.
This is what JKR said about Cursed Child. She approves of it wholeheartedly and loves it.
"I've been working on it for two years along with these guys, I knew exactly what was coming, I'd seen all of it rehearsed at some point, and yet I was still completely blown away by it. Incredibly moved.
She hates the idea of fans like Rose, who barely understand the characters yet pretend to know them better than her, trying to own Harry Potter.
When asked whether she felt the Harry Potter story was now owned by its fanbase, she told BBC arts editor Will Gompertz: "I wouldn't go that far, Will. Because that would be and I'm deadly serious - that would be to disavow what that world was to me.
"For 17 years that world was mine, and for seven years it was entirely mine - not a living soul knew anything about it.
"And I can't just uproot that from all the personal experiences that inform those stories and say I'm throwing that away now.
"Til my dying breath I will care deeply about those stories."
Rowling had a line about Dumbledore appreciating some Muggle girl's hair crossed out of the films because he was gay, even though this was minor and not even necessarily sexual. Do people who call themselves fans really think she would let the main villain of Cursed Child be Bella and Voldemort's daughter if she did not approve of the idea just for the sake of money? She could just as easily get the money with a different backstory for Delphi.

Hello, traveler, and welcome to my devotional blog. I'm a Hellenic Polytheist of 9+ years and a Priest in Training for King Zeus Horkios, Watcher of Othas. You may call me Altis. I use any pronouns.
On this page, you will find a variety of content, such as:
A few rambles about my practice, the community, politics, anything that passes my mind that I feel so inclined to discuss. If you do not like politics or do not enjoy political discussion, you do not have to interact with such posts! They will be labeled at the start with a political warning in case they make you uncomfortable. (#Ramblings of Altis)
Lessons and teachings are based on things I know, things that have been requested, and things that I feel are not taught as much as they should be. (#Teachings of Altis)
Journals about my Priesthood training, updates on this process and how things are going, as well as tasks and assignments I have been given by the King. (#Altis's Training)
General updates on my practice and rituals - as of right now, rituals aren't their separate category. (#Practice of Altis)
Everything will be marked with a proper header, like the one on this post.
Now, for the fun facts about me.
This is not my main blog. @light-of-delphi is not my main blog either, but it's more popular and central. I won't be posting on that one as frequently, now that my path has changed and I'm walking a different road. Consider this blog a new chapter!
I specialize in divination with tarot cards, pendulums, coins, and dice. I have strong clairaudience (hearing the divine), and I still have plans of becoming an Oracle of some kind for the Gods.
I am a Cancer Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Scorpio Rising.
I am a lover of philosophy, art history, ancient history and civilizations, and art, with a special interest in the Italian Renaissance, Classical civilizations, and the French Revolution.
I have very strong views - I do not care if your views align with mine. They do not have to, so long as you're respectful about it. If you respect my views, I shall respect yours as well.
I run a 15+ server dedicated to the education on Oathsworn paths. You can find that here.
I sincerely hope none of this came off as intimidating - I am not meant to be intimidating. My status as a Priest in Training for King Zeus does not make me better than anyone, above anyone, or more important than anyone. We're all equals, here. Titles don't change that.
I am beyond open to novice practitioners interacting with my page, as I strive for education and learning! I love teaching and my inbox is always open for questions, comments, concerns, and a little bit of guidance whenever needed. Though, as I am an adult, I will not be going out of my way to dm with or private message minors. If there is any indication that you are a minor, I will not be responding to your dms or inboxes. Feel free to leave an ask instead. This is for my online safety and comfort as well as yours.
I look forward to bonding with you all, Xaire!

Object Permanence
pharma x reader, yandere x yandere
music: depeche mode corrupt, judas.
this is a mess from 2nd pov to 3rd and its all my brain vomiting at 2am, maybe i'll flesh it out properly for ao3 eventually
-----
"Leave Tarn."
He tilts his helm slightly. it can't be seen, but he's got a smile on him. He wanted to see more of this tiny creature. Something so small that can be crushed under one pede. Yet it dares threaten him? Intriguing. He takes a step forward.
"Don't you dare. One more step and I'll blow this joint sky high. You decide. Play with a fleshling and lose your lifetime supply of t-cogs, or take your leave and continue what you do."
The pistol was practically half her size, but it didn't matter. She's got both of her tiny arms wrapped around the trigger, her legs bent and spread out to give her leverage. She was not joking, pointed at the clinic's main energon supply line, one shot and all of them- including the patients will go up in flames.
------
desire? obsession? limerance?
it doesn't matter. you respected him enough to let him do his job. but that's because you *let* him. You have no problem sharing him. Only if you allow it. Are these thoughts right? Logically, you know it's not. Therapy? only a crutch. You won't hurt anyone, just him.
And he knows. Takes one insane idiot to know another. He's no different than you. Working away on a patient's energon line, you sit on the console watching him. Both of you wanted each other. But the real game is who will *consume* the other. And you know you'll win.
mc worked with pharma on delphi, it was an encounter like no other. Humans stepping foot on Messatine? unheard of. but you? you're special. Growing up in the hospitals and being a guinea pig for the labs, you're body (allows you to function without oxygen.)
pharma never wanted to work with organics either. he never even expected to see one.
(lore of mc stumbling into delphi when tarn was collecting cogs, and mc threatened the shit out of tarn.)
it was just impulse. you love life too much. specifically, *playing* with it. and theres no better playground than delphi. they were fascinating. giant alien robots that live and breath? truly a work of art. and pharma? living to serve his kind? yet secretly working with the enemy just to save their asses? thats dedication. dedication you want to take.
pharma was facinated by the human. despite a fraction of their size, with quick thinking, managed to go against tarn. and came out without a scratch. he knew that this human was special. one of a kind.
she wanted his wings. to snip them and ground him with her forever. but that would be too easy. he can rebuild it anyways. or maybe *she* can rebuild it. again and again. have him come to her so he can gain his ability to fly again.
she can take his cog, after watching him remove hundreds of cogs, she can permanently take away his transformation ability.
or she can posess him with a simple line of code. a little phrase that will have him forever obey him. sent straight to his neuronet.
but she didnt want any of these. she wanted him to *crawl* to her. to want her. to be obsessed about her as much as she is. his processors were too precious to be tampered. why physically change it when she can twirl him around her finger because he wants her?
she's worked at delphi for months now. always maintained a professional relationship. but pharma knows. he can see the hunger in her eyes. and he's absolutely enamoured. never had a creature taken so much interest in him. everyone respected his work, but never has never taken interest in his *spark*. to the point she's willing to gamble with tarn for him?
but he's also scared. shivers run down his neuro circuits from both excitement and fear. to give himself to such a small creature? Ludacris. his ego won't let it. After all, he's the cmo. *his* delphi. he's the best medic out there. no one is capable of his feats. and no one will control him.
she in the end does put a virus in him, slowly corrupting him to think nothing but her.
unbeknownst to her, he's been poisoning her with a deliriant, so that she'll stay forever in a trance.

An essay about Barbara Gordon: Part One.
@mrsbertinelli
@spoilerqlert
(Hoping this is good.)
We're bringing in a favourite, folks, Say hello to Barbara Gordon.
In today's essay, we’re (hopefully) going to discuss coping, catharsis, responding to meta-textual misogyny and damn good art.
PART ONE UNDER THE CUT.
My essay begins with Oracle: Year One: Born of Hope. Following after The Killing Joke, focusing on Barbara’s mental state as she goes from depression to beginning to build herself up.
And Barbara, predictably, is angry. Most of all at herself, because she “should have known better.” Should have looked through the door hole, should’ve knocked the gun out of his hands, should have done… anything.
But none of it is her fault, how was she supposed to know that someone, especially someone like The Joker, would show up in broad daylight to abduct her father? How was she, having retired being Batgirl, supposed to have predicted anything from That Life would come to her?
The blame for everything is on Joker, and she knows that, but she still feels raw. She feels like an idiot, a disappointment.
”Good. I hope I’ve hurt him. It’s nothing compared to the pain I’ve felt, or will feel.”
Barbara’s lashing out is completely understandable, imagine having a normal day, and then everything changes and it wasn’t even to hurt you. it was to hurt your dad, and then one of his friends. Never about you, no, no, you were just a convenient way to hurt the real target.

After a few pages, Barbara starts trying to use her skills to do something, feeling “tired of being a victim.”
But, despite her efforts, the person she’s investigating finds her and…

Well, pushes her wheelchair over and makes Barbara nearly get hit by traffic.
Anyway, after getting helped back up and learning some self defence tips, Barbara has a dream.
“You have lost nothing that matters” says the oracle of Delphi. And when Barbara pulls off her mask, the oracle does the same. And it’s her own face underneath.
And that’s where it clicks. Joker took away her ability to walk, but she was already a genius with computers beforehand.
So, Barbara commits her first act as Oracle, and the story ends hopefully. The entire story is a metatextual rescue of Barbara Gordon, because the original writers had no plan for her post TKJ. The writers of this one, John Ostrander and Kim Yale, looked at Barbara’s situation and went “Hey, let’s actually explore this.”

"I am no longer a distaff impersonation of someone else. I'm me-- more me than I ever have been. My life is my own. I embrace it, and the light with a deep, continuing joy."
In part two, we will discuss catharsis.
Stay tuned.

What does everyone think about this theory that Delphi went to Durmstrang?
A Lexicon reader commented about the question of Delphi’s education. Was she home schooled by Rowles? The reader believes this to be highly unlikely, as it would have been cheaper to send her to school than to find the high quality private tutors that Delphi would have needed to be able to produce such high quality magic – fighting duels against experienced adults and mastering the Unforgivable Curses. As Delphi says that her guardian Euphemia Rowle “didn’t like me much” and “only took me in for the gold” (CC3.16), the reader feels that she would have been glad to get rid of Delphi at age 11. We know Delphi didn’t attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:
“I’ve never been to Hogwarts. Pretty lax security here isn’t there? And so many portraits. And corridors. And ghosts!” (CC2.14)
However the reader thinks that there are two clues to her being at a school:
When they first meet, Delphi says to Albus “It’s what they used to say about me at school. Delphini Diggory – there isn’t a hole she couldn’t dig herself into.” (CC1.6) [although she wouldn't have been a Diggory at that time]; and
Delphi easily produces two Durmstrang Institute robes for Albus and Scorpius to wear at the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament (possibly her own school robes) (CC2.4).
Source: https://www.hp-lexicon.org/character/riddle-family/delphi/
It had never occurred to me before I read this but it makes total sense and I’ve now accepted it into my own headcanons. Durmstrang’s reputation for being more accepting of the Dark Arts would also make this a good fit.

Diogenes
Artist: John William Waterhouse (English, 1849-1917)
Style: Academic
Date: 1882
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney, Australia
Diogenes the Cynic
Diogenes, also known as Diogenes the Cynic or Diogenes of Sinope, was a Greek philosopher and one of the founders of Cynicism. He was born in Sinope, an Ionian colony on the Black Sea coast of Anatolia, in 412 or 404 BC and died at Corinth in 323 BC.
Diogenes of Sinope is too irascible a character not to share some anecdotes about him from the compendium of Diogenes Laertius on the Lives of the Eminent Philosophers. They illustrate the precepts by which he lived: that personal happiness is satisfied by meeting one's natural needs and that what is natural cannot be shameful or indecent. His life, therefore, was lived with extreme simplicity, inured to want, and without shame. It was this determination to follow his own dictates and not adhere to the conventions of society that he was given the epithet "dog," from which the name "cynic" is derived. (As to why he was called a dog, Diogenes replied, "Because I fawn upon those who give me anything, and bark at those who give me nothing, and bite the rogues.") Sold as a slave, he pointed and said, "Sell me to this man; he needs a master." The man heeded the advice, and entrusted Diogenes with his household and the education of his children.
Seeing a child drinking from his hands, Diogenes threw away his cup and remarked, "A child has beaten me in plainness of living." When invited to the house of Plato, he trampled upon his carpet, saying that he thereby trampled on the vanity of Plato, to which Plato retorted "How much pride you expose to view, Diogenes, by seeming not to be proud." To Plato's definition of a man as an animal, bipedal and featherless, Diogenes plucked a chicken and declared, "Here is Plato's man."
Alexander the Great was reported to have said, "Had I not been Alexander, I should have liked to be Diogenes." Once, while Diogenes was sunning himself, Alexander came up to him and offered to grant him any request. "Stand out of my light," he replied. (There are many other references to this incident, principally Plutarch, Life of Alexander, XIV.1–5.) When asked why he went about with a lamp in broad daylight, Diogenes confessed, "I am looking for a [honest] man." Seeing a young man blush, he remarked that it was the complexion of virtue.
Why do people give to beggars, he was asked, but not to philosophers? "Because they think they may one day be lame or blind, but never expect that they will turn to philosophy." To a young man who complained that he was ill suited to study philosophy, Diogenes said "Why then do you live, if you do not care to live well?" Of grammarians, he was astonished that they desire to learn everything about the misfortunes of Odysseus but nothing about their own. Of mathematicians, that they keep their eyes on the heavens and overlook what is at their feet. Of orators, that they speak of justice but never practice it. When asked why he alone praised an indifferent harp player, Diogenes replied "because he plays the harp and does not steal."
When asked what wine he found most pleasant to drink, Diogenes replied, "That for which other people pay." Once, eating some dried figs, he offered some to Plato, which prompted Diogenes to remonstrate "I said that you might have a share of them, not that you might eat them all." As to when was the proper time to eat, he replied that for the rich, whenever one pleases; for the poor, whenever one can. Asked why he begged in front of a statue, Diogenes replied that he did so to get used to being refused. Reproached for behaving indecently in public, he lamented only that he wished it were as easy to relieve hunger by rubbing one's stomach. And criticized for drinking in a tavern, he said that he also had his hair cut in a barber's shop.
Of the golden statue of Phrynê at Delphi, Diogenes was said to have written upon it: "From the licentiousness of Greece." And, when he saw the child of a courtesan, whom he compared to a "deadly honeyed potion," throwing stones at a crowd, he cried out: "Take care you don't hit your father." Seeing a bad archer, he sat down beside the target so get out of harm's way. When asked when a man should marry, he replied that a young man ought not to marry just yet and an old man not at all. Asked why he anointed his feet with scent, he replied that he then would be able to smell it; if on his head, it only would pass into the air above him.
Chided as an old man who ought to rest, he replied, "What, if I were running in the stadium, ought I to slacken my pace when approaching the goal?" To someone who declared life to be an evil, he corrected him, "Not life itself, but living ill." When asked from where he came, Diogenes said, "I am a citizen of the world" (cosmopolitan), and, when someone was queried as to what sort of man Diogenes was, the reply was given, "A Socrates gone mad."
